There were two important realisations that struck us at 2under3 when we ourselves had two children under three.
- The financial incentive to work was still there, but the costs of childcare and the effort involved in getting everyone ready and out of the house in time for a full day at work exhausted us just thinking about it! We loved the challenge of work, but wanted the flexibility to spend time with our kids;
- Some days, just getting down the street to buy milk and bread could take up an entire morning, and the internet was our new best friend for ordering groceries, fruit and vegetables, gifts and just about anything else you can think of.
The need for many mums to reinvent their careers by starting an online business, coincided neatly with our need to buy things online! We realised that if we are spending money online, we should be supporting those brave women who are running their own business. So who are they and what do they sell? This is where the idea for Mum Market came from.
Our hope is that busy online mums will choose to support the business online mums! So start exploring the great online stores run by women, and choose something that makes a real difference.
