Buying a hands-free kit for my mobile phone is probably the best investment I’ve made in ages! Basically, I’ve realised that I can achieve quite alot over the phone whilst I wash the dishes, hang out the washing, do the ironing (assuming I actually did this of course) etc etc. I contact friends and family members that I just want to touch-base with, I can arrange things like insurance, banking, childcare etc etc. I make myself a list of phonecalls every few days, and then stick on the handsfree kit whilst I tackle some household chore that is boring. I’m actually really not a telephone person, but I’ve found that I feel so much less isolated when I just call people to say hello and in this age of internet there is still a surprising amount of stuff that you can achieve voice-to-voice!
