Popcorn is a great food for toddlers when they have learnt how to chew and swallow properly. Did you know that you can actually cook normal popcorn in the microwave (ie you don’t need to buy the individual and expensive popcorn packets). All you need are some paperbags, and you the put the popcorn in them, scrunch and wind up the ends tightly or tie with a piece of (non metallic!) string and then pop it on for a minute or so. You’ll need to experiment with your own microwave and quantities to get it perfectly right. So easy and quick – and a great alternative to unhealthy chips or expensive health bars etc. You can even do it before you head out the door, and then just take the popcorn in the paper bag with you for snacks on-the-go!
