My little girl is 2 years old and when I get tired carrying her around I say she is heavy. The other day I asked her to carry a little bag for me and to the amusement of bystanders she immediately said “Heavy!” and gave it back to me.

Our son, Hamish, is 18 months old and just starting to build his vocabulary, and like all toddlers is very particular about what things are called. Whilst visiting his local school with a friend, the principal noticed he was wearing a very cute blue beanie, and said to him, “Oh what a nice hat.” Hamish looked him straight in the eye and in a very serious voice corrected the principal: “Beanie…”

Whilst bathing a friend’s guinea pig, my 3 1\2 year old son inquired as to the whereabouts of our own guinea pig that had died very recently. “He’s up in heaven, up in the sky” I replied casually. “I can’t see him” he replied, as he looked up towards the sky, very seriously.

We live and work in a motel. We were very busy cooking room service breakfasts when our 2 year-old pulled 7 trays of eggs off the bench..that’s 105 eggs! We had no more eggs, bedlam! We laugh now but at the time..

We were watching our wedding video and my 3 year old daughter starting crying, when we asked her why she was crying, she said” because i wasnt invited to the wedding”. We had to explain to her that she wasnt born yet.

When l was 4 l was very sick in hospital, the prest came around to read me my last rights when l told him to get lost as l wasn’t ready to die yet. I’m still that stubborn today.

I gave my 5 year old son Isaac a bowl of fruit loops, he came to me afterwords, and said thank you mum i enjoyed my hula hoops.

My mum asked my four year old daughter Madisyn if she would please take her dirty bowl to the sink. She had something else in her hand and turned around to mum and said “I’ve only got two hands, I’m not an octupus you know”. (with her hands on her hips and a whole lot of attitude)
